Nighthawk 2021 is Cancelled due to COVID-19

Unfortunately due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Australia, we have had to CANCEL Operation Nighthawk for 2021.

To All Our Volunteers who supported us in 2021

On behalf of the Operation Nighthawk Committee I would like to pass on our thanks to everyone
who completed the online Nighthawk Volunteer Application for the 2021 event. Regrettably we had
to cancel Operation Nighthawk 2021 due to the various risks associated with the current COVID-19
situation. We received an overwhelming response from Rovers and Leaders willing to assist us with
this great event.
We look forward to seeing you all in 2022 when hopefully many more of the community are
vaccinated and we can hold Operation Nighthawk without placing our community and Scouts at risk.

Since its inception in 1982, Operation Nighthawk has grown to be the largest Scouting Youth activity, other than Jamborees, in Queensland. It is supported by Scouts and Venturer Scouts from Queensland and Nothern NSW. It is an overnight hike packed with activity bases in the bush for both Scouts and Venturer Scouts.

At each of the bases Leadership and Technical Skills are scored on a variety of different tasks, these may include Mapping, First Aid and Scouting Skills.

In 2019 Operation Nighthawk was entered in the Outdoors Queensland Awards and won! This wouldn’t have been possible without your long term support of our event. Thank you for your support and hope to continue holding our award winning event for years to come.
